Search iTunes Library with QuickTunes

ITunes Library:

The iTunes library is a database that iTunes uses to arrange your music. ITunes uses and creates several library files and maintain them for different purposes. QuickTunes application is normally used to check and search iTunes Library on Mac OS.

What is QuickTunes Application?

QuickTunes lets you to view the presently playing song and artist with just a quick look at your menu-bar. Why you need to move your mouse to the iTunes icon, just click and wait for iTunes to appear, so check the screen, minimize iTunes, and go back to work? With QuickTunes you get the information you desire, right where you require it. QuickTunes also provides a fast iTunes controller in the menu bar. A lightweight application at just 13-24k, Quick-Tunes is big on convenience and is in particular handy to utilize while driving, exercising, jogging, or other situations where device-focus should be limited.

Using Quick-Tunes to Search iTunes Library:

The first time you start Quick-Tunes, you will be asked with two file permission requests. Please make certain you check-mark both permission request boxes before clicking the “Allow” button. Otherwise, you may be asked quite a few times.

QuickTunes creates a little randomized playlist from the music stored on your MicroSD card, so you’ll need to have a MicsoSD card (containing some music) installed in order to use QuickTunes. You can start a new QuickTunes playlist at any time, even if music is currently playing, by simply launching the Quick-Tunes application.

QuickTunes uses the normal Media Player for playback and is started through the Browser. Once the Media Player is invoked, the Quick-Tunes application closes. Thus, if you navigate out of the Media Player during playback and need to go back, you’ll need to select Switch Application then the Browser app. QuickTunes is available under the GNU GPL License

New Features in Latest Version of Quick-Tunes:

•    The Open Floating Window menu item now changes it’s text and function based on whether the window is open or not.
•    Previous default hotkey for Play or Pause changed to control-command-space to resolve issue with Spotlight.
•    No Polling as app can now receives notifications from iTunes for song changes
•    Reduces idle CPU usage to 0% (Major enhancement in performance)
•    Added other icons to QuickTunes menu for visual improvement.
•    Other minor improvements in performance.

System and Software Requirements

•    iTunes 4.7 or above.
•    Mac Operating System 10.3 or above
•    QuickTunes is a Universal Application
